I needed another Ext Hard drive for two reasons, 1) I have a Zune and use my Ext HD to dump off all the movies I have etc 2) I play online poker and use it to store my Database.
I have a previous 80Gb one that was fast running out of room so Upgraded to this one.
The good points is this, it has an on/off switch at the back, seems basic but too many Ext HD do not have this basic function. The USB 2.00 cord & Power cord have small jack connectors... let me explain?, when you put this drive on your desk in the supplied holder and plug the cables "in" there is very little "cable gravity strain" as opposed to my other Ext HD where the plugs were somewhat more bulky and were easily pulled out and/or did not look or seem secure........a small thing but worth mentioning.
I also put this through a small test when I copied all the data from the Old Hd to this new one.
Transfer speed was about 45 seconds per Gigabyte, therefore 60Gb of movies/Music videos/photos etc took about 45mins.
The outer casing temperature was warm, but by no means Hot and everything worked as it should.
Lastly, you will notice that it states 500Gb, but your computer will probably say it is about 465GB... no Omega is not ripping you off, you can read here why there is a difference:
