I bought this as a birthday present for my girlfriend, because she's almost filled up her laptop hard drive. Since moving the bulk of her files to the external hard drive, she's noticed a big improvement in the computer's performance.
She loves the new external hard drive. The polished aluminum coating is very stylish, and she loves the fact that she can turn it on and off with the switch (she's very environmentally mindful). The light indicator is non-obtrusive, not too bright that it will bother you in the dark. This casing is also wonderful about dispelling heat; while it can grow warm to the touch with a lot of use, it is never too hot for fingers and has a pleasant warmth. Also, this drive makes absolutely NO noise whatsoever, quieter than a whisper.
