Purchase Iomega Prestige 1 TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive 34275


I bought this drive a year ago and after a month or so when I had a sufficient amount of data that was irreplaceable it began to unmount automatically. I tried to contact Iomega tech support but the only way that you can contact them is via instant message. It took an hour for them to agree to replace my hard drive with an identical model (after I paid the shipping). Once I had the new drive it worked great. I left it on my desk all the time and was always sure to unmount it when I was finished. After 6-8 months I plug it in one day and it will not show up on my desktop. I've taken it to a number of tech people in the area and they said that it is faulty construction and that the circuit board probably had a short in it. Once again I lost a lot of irreplaceable data.
