After reading the reviews on this product, I hesitated to purchase it. I needed external storage for my Mac laptop but I am a new Mac user--the other Mac users who said they had problems with reformatting and installing the device caused me some concern. But the price was good and I have had success with Iomega products in the past, so I purchased it.
I am glad I did. I had absolutely NO problems setting up the device or reformatting it. The directions were very clear. If anything, it was easier than adding a device to a PC.
Additionally, I started transferring photos and documents for my genealogy research to the drive with no problems and the speed was fine--no extended time frame for transfer or for pulling items back to the desktop. The device is much smaller than I expected and quite sleek looking.
