I expect most disk drives, external or internal, to work. So I have just had the drive one day, and it works. It took a while copying some 150GB of data to it which caused it to heat up considerably. But it works. For a product like this providing a basic function, usability is what differentiates one external drive from another (besides the speed, caching, etc.). I was not pleased! The plug is huge and occupies 3 of the sockets on my power strip. The power cord is about 5ft. And the USB cable is about 3 ft 3 inches. In comparison, another external drive I have, occupies the minimum space on the power strip, has a 10 ft long power cord, and a USB cable that is 6 feet long. If all of this is not an issue for you, then this drive will work for you just fine. And yes, I can use the other 6 ft USB cable with this drive and make it all work for me.
