Before you read reviews saying their drive failed within a month of purchase just keep in mind that ALL hard drives from ANY manufacturer has a certain "infant mortality" rate. That is to say, no matter what some hard drives just won't make it past a month or so. However, simply calling the manufacturer should solve your problem.
I myself have been very happy with my 1TB unit, using it to backup my iMac through Time Machine. It works great and I plan to purchase another unit, perhaps the 1.5TB or even 2TB unit for college next year to go with a sexy 17" MacBook Pro.
